New Regulations on Applying visa for Tourism, Visiting Friends or Family Members in Mainland China
According to the Chinese Embassy in Sweden, from Jan 1st, 2012, new regulations on L visa (Visa for Tourism, Visiting Friends or Family Members in Mainland China) will come into effect.
Part І: If you are going to China for touring or visiting friend
For Swedish citizens with your Swedish Passport to apply visa
Please submit the following documents.
1.A letter of invitation issued either by your friend/relatives residing in China, which indicates the relationship between the inviter and the invitee, the purpose of this trip, detailed travel schedule,the invitee's personal information, i.e.name,passport number or date of birth,and the inviter's contact information ,i.e. resident address, mobile or home phone number. The inviter's signature is required.Please note that the invitation letter form with fixed template will not be accepted.
If your friend is not a Chinese citizen but working or studying in China, please also attach a copy of your friends's resident permit and Chinese visa which are all affixed on their passports as well as a copy of your friend's passport information page.The "Registration form of temporary residence" is not the same as "resident permit". or
2. A letter of invitation issued by a Chinese company(Travel Agency), which should indicate the purpose of this trip, detailed traval schedule, the invitee's personal information,i.e.name,passport number or date of birth,the company's contact information i.e. office address, telephone number, etc. The company's registration stamp and the signature from the person in charge is required as well.
3. If you were a Chinese citizen but having Swedish passport now, neither an invitation letter nor the following documents is required for the purpose of visting family members. The marriage certificate need to be provided if your spouse wants to apply the same visa as you. Your children born in Sweden also need to provide a personbevis or familjbevis which indicate the kinship between you and your children. Your previous Chinese passport must be submitted if applying Chinese visa for the first time or a copy of your Chinese visa if applying with a new Swedish passport.If you and your family is only to tour in China, please submit the documents listed below.
If you do not have the letter of invitation.
Please provide ALL the following documents:
1. Personbevis from Skatteverket (Swedish Tax Agency)issued within 6 months, and
2.Your travel plan, including your arrival and departure date, cities name, your activities in each cities etc., and
3. Round-trip flight booking record, and
4. Hotel booking reservation of the main cities.
For non-EU citizens, but studying, working or residing in Sweden.
Please submit the following documents
1. A photocopy of your valid Residence Permit issued by Migrationsverket (Swedish Migration Board) valid for at least 6 months, and
2. A copy of your photo ID or your driver's license, and
3.Your personbevis from Skatteverket issued within 6 months,and
4. A copy of your Letter of employment or your employment ID card from a Swedish company, and
5. All the documents mentioned in Part І for Swedish Citizens.
6. If you are studying in Sweden,please provide a registration letter as well.
7.Wtih reservations for exceptions
For EU citizens without Swedish Resident Permit.
Please submit the following documents.
1. A photocopy of your identity documents issued by Swedish authorities, for example, Swedish ID card , Swedish driver’s license. and
2. A copy of your Letter of employment or your employment ID from a Swedish company, and
3.Your personbevis from Skatteverket issued within 6 months,and
4.All the documents mentioned in Part І for Swedish Citizens.
5. If you are studying in Sweden, please provide a registration letter as well.
6. With reservations for exceptions
Please note that normally the duration of L Visa will be no more than 60 days.
Part II: If you are planning to China for visiting family member(s), who is employed by a company based in China or who is studying in a University in China.
Please provide the following documents.
1.A Letter of Invitation from your family member; and
2.Documents clarifying the relationship between you and your family members, i.e. marriage certificate or familybevis, and
3.A photocopy of your family member’s resident permit, and
4.A photocopy of your family member’s Z-visa or X-visa;and
5.A photocopy of your family member's passport infomation page;
6.A photocopy of the aliens’ employment permit if your family member is working in China .
Please note that you may be eligible for applying multiple entries with longer duration of stay while the Chinese Embassy has the final decision.
Part III: For those who are non-Swedish citizens and temporarily traveling or visiting Sweden.
You are suggested to apply Chinese visa at the Chinese Embassy in your home country in advance.
